Eat This, Not That! asked chefs from top restaurant chains to name the best burritos in the business. Eric Fernandez, Associate Director of Culinary at The Culinary Edge, pointed to El Charrito in Monterey, California as one of the greatest burrito spots around.
For Eric, it comes down to three things: the tortilla, the beans, and the size. A spectacular burrito should hold together just enough to be edible, almost like a thin dumpling skin, delivering a perfect and satisfying bite. The meats matter, but the fundamentals are what separate good from great. His advice? Don't sleep on the breakfast burrito.
