Sweet Flour Bake Shop

An entrepreneur approached TCE with a unique proposition for a new start-up bakery concept. We were tasked to create a stand alone restaurant selling cookies made to order with the guests’ choice of mix in’s served in two minutes.

Challenge

The challenge was two part
Part 1: No one had perfected the technology required to bake a cookie in such little time with “homemade” quality results.
Part 2: What guest experience elements would allow this technological feat provide the warm comfort of a bakery?

Solution

In addition to developing a warm and comforting bakeshop experience that delivered on customer expectations of both the familiar and innovative, The Culinary Edge also perfected the use of Turbo Chef technology in order to deliver on Sweet Flour’s “grab and go” promise.

Additionally, The Culinary Edge identified an opportunity to address the breakfast day part by formulating baked-to-order muffin tops that have allowed for much higher sales and furthered the opportunity for expansion.

Results

Since opening its doors in early 2009, Sweet Flour Bake Shop has had lines out the door and has become an integrated part of its community, generating both local and national press.
